I Giardini di Poseidone

Organic and regenerative farming, permaculture and preservation of local biodiversity

Olive oil, honey and natural products

Organic and regenerative farming on Elba Island

I Giardini di Poseidone was founded in 2019, when Davide planted the first seeds, pioneering the principles of regenerative organic farming and permaculture on the Island of Elba.

While green shoots began to grow between the rows of olive trees, protected by the shade of their branches, chickens wandered freely in search of insects. Soon the bees joined and expanded the rural family, bringing with them their precious harvest: honey. Olive oil, honey and vegetables soon became the farm’s flagship products, fulfilling Davide’s dream.

In 2023 Davide met Ginevra, and together they decided to continue this journey while also developing educational projects with schools and beekeeping courses. Ginevra and Davide share a vision based on care, wellbeing and respect for the ecosystem and local biodiversity. Their goal is to reduce the impact on the surrounding environment, integrating with nature instead of exploiting it, creating a balanced and beneficial coexistence.

At I Giardini di Poseidone no synthetic chemical substances are used: all products are seasonal and farm-grown.

I was born in Lugo, near Ravenna, in 1994 and grew up in Bologna, where I graduated in Animal Production and Wildlife Management before specialising in Marine Biology. My passion for nature and water has always been part of my life: as a child I spent hours searching for beetles among rosemary branches and collecting grass for horses.

My love for water has remained constant over the years, from long summer days spent snorkeling to playing water polo in Italy’s A1 league between the ages of 10 and 22. Then came scuba diving: tank on my back and underwater explorations until I became a diving instructor right here on Elba Island.

Over the last few years, my deepest connection with animals re-emerged together with an increasingly important question: “Who do I really want to be?” I first met Davide during the summer of 2019, talking about our beloved Romagna and island life. At the time, life felt carefree and simple.

In the summer of 2023 our paths crossed again. I was looking for a farm where I could begin working close to the land, plants and natural rhythms. I felt the need to understand how to build my own “farm with animals”.

From that moment on we never separated again. We decided to combine our dreams and turn them into a real project based on care, balance and respect for nature.

Today I can truly say I am happy: despite the difficulties and unexpected events, there is no greater satisfaction than seeing and touching the real and symbolic fruits of your own work.

Cultivating the land, rediscovering yourself

Davide

I was born in Bologna in 1981 and grew up in Ravenna, where my roots lie. At just 13 years old I already knew the path I wanted to follow, choosing to study agricultural sciences at the Agricultural Technical Institute of Ravenna.

For many years, however, the fast pace of modern life and values far removed from nature made me lose sight of what would truly make me happy. After graduating, I continued my studies in Environmental Sciences and came close to completing my degree, but while writing my thesis I realised that laboratory life was not what I wanted.

In the following years, while exploring the countryside of Romagna in search of balance and meaning, I encountered inspiring agricultural realities that awakened an authentic passion within me, bringing me back to the dream I had cultivated since childhood.

After several practical experiences on farms, I decided to create my own project based on ethical, organic and nature-respecting principles. Through courses and direct experiences in permaculture and regenerative organic farming, I built the foundations of my activity.

This is how “I Giardini di Poseidone” was born on Elba Island: a chemical-free farm inspired by permaculture principles and focused on soil regeneration and biodiversity protection.

Meeting Ginevra brought new energy and vision to the project, which continues to grow today by combining experiences, sensitivity and shared goals, always respecting the natural environment around us.
